The Pasta Machine
This project was born due to a real need. I thought about cooking pasta without having to take care of put it in the pot and have time to do other things meanwhile.
The video explains how this device works.
- Place the pasta in the device on top of the pot.
- Set the timer.
- Forget about that.
- Come back when the pasta is cooked.
Product Design
For the design of the product I had to go through several iterations in order to reach the right device.

Too much material / Not efficient
This first prototype had too many issues. The holders were not appropriate, at least for this material (PLA). PLA will not stand the heat and will melt down. On top of that, the pasta hatch was too narrow so the pasta would get stuck.
Servomotor would not work well
This second prototype fixed the previous problems. However, the servomotor used would not be able to sustaina decent amount of pasta.
Briliant
Finally, this third proto had a successful design. Due to the change of servomotor, I had to modify the geometry resulting in a square form instead.

I used the Elegoo mega 2560 for implementing the electronics.

I used an LCD to set and visualize the timer.
